Matt Ascione is a highly sought-after guitarist and producer, the driving force behind The Wet Cowboys, with a distinguished career that spans decades and reflects his deep-rooted passion for country music. He started his musical journey at the age of 12 and, by 17, was already playing professionally at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. After four successful seasons, Matt and close friends from the show formed "The Ticket," a country rock band that performed for two years on Premier Cruise Lines. While his bandmates moved to Nashville to advance their music careers, Matt chose a different path.

In December 1995, Matt joined the United States Air Force Band, a decision that would take him around the world, with postings at Travis Air Force Base and Hickam AFB in Hawaii, before he earned a coveted spot with the prestigious United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. During his tenure, he played in multiple rock and country bands and distinguished himself as a songwriter and producer. Among his notable contributions are the Max Impact hits, "American Airman" and "This Flag." "American Airman," in particular, achieved millions of views online and continues to be shown to new recruits, solidifying Matt’s impact on the Air Force’s cultural and musical heritage.

Throughout his career, Matt has had the privilege of sharing the stage with and opening for some of the biggest names in music, including Clint Black, Wynonna Judd, Roy Clark, Bryan White, Hank Williams Jr., Chris Janson, and the Beach Boys. His exceptional musicianship, coupled with his producing and studio work, has earned him widespread respect and admiration within the Maryland and Virginia music communities.

Now, as the founder and leader of The Wet Cowboys, Matt brings his decades of experience and passion to a venture that blends the best of country music with a fresh, energetic sound. His unwavering commitment to his craft and his remarkable ability to connect with audiences make him a standout figure in the DMV country music scene.
